WALK OF SHAME

Pathetic.  I mean look, I know the Red Sox are good, but so are the Yankees. To be honest, there is no reason that the Yankees can't pull out a win tonight.  There was one issue and it's an issue, that many of us have been feeling but none of us want to talk about. Why? Because it's our Golden Boy... but the fact of the matter is Phil Hughes is inconsistent, but more importantly, it's about time the Yankees think about cutting bait on this kid.

Sure, he's 27 when he hits the free agent market, but the reality is, Hughes needs to be the pitcher that we've been waiting for, or he needs to get out of the Bronx. There, I said it.  We've waited too long and nothing has happened... you know what I mean?

Tonight, the Yankees got their asses handed to them and I am not going to sit here and map out the 11 runs the Red Sox got tonight. Instead, because this is Bleeding Yankee Blue, I will tell you how the Yankees got their 1 run and who on the pitching side game up the 11.

In the 4th inning, Chris Stewart sacrificed Jayson Nix home.  Run 1 for the Yankees... and that's the last one they'd get tonight.

As far as pitching, Phil Hughes went 4.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits and 5 runs.  Preston Claiborne followed and didn't give up a run in his 1.2 innings of work.  Then came Adam Warren who went 3 innings, gave up 8 hits and 6 runs.  Yeah, Warren was horrible too but you need a strong starting pitcher to set the tone and Hughes didn't do it...that's the bottom line.

Final: Red Sox 11 - Yankees 1.

I hated tonight. We need to turn this around.
