We had first reported some great news about Mark Teixeira yesterday when CBSSports.com reported that Tex didn't have a new tear in his wrist and the MRI revealed just inflammation. Read BRIGHT SPOT FOR MARK TEIXEIRA. Good news right? Well, maybe, maybe not.
Sometimes I feel like the Yankees like to mess with CBS Sports and Jon Heyman. Why? Well, because shortly after that report, Joe Girardi revealed that while Tex is day to day... they will evaluate him mid-week and "wouldn't rule out a return to the disabled list for the Gold Glover." That comes from Lou DiPietro of YESNetwork.com, read HERE.
So what happens if he DOES hit the DL? Well, don't worry ladies and gentlemen... we have Addison Maruszak!
Who is Addison Maruszak? He's a 26 year old who currently plays for Scranton Wilkes-Barre. He has a .246 average with 1 home run and 18 RBIs in 52 games this season. Hardly a home run or power hitter, but a kid. All you guys have been asking for is the kids and "when are they gonna come up?" Well... you may get to see one now, right?

For me personally, I want Lyle Overbay continuing to fill in with Tex out. Maybe that can bring alittle magic back to the old timers in Vernon Wells and Travis Hafner too! Alittle trifecta of Overbay, Wells and Pronk is definitely needed and with Tex coming back, I wonder if the momentum was broken. Hey, that's me thinking out loud, but I am curious.
Whatever the case, we'll have to see. Hmm...Addison Maruszak, huh? OK then... stay tuned ladies and gentlemen... stay tuned...
