WHEN YOU FALL OFF THE HORSE, GET BACK ON... AND WIN!

If you fall of a horse, do you swear off horses for the rest of your life? No. You get back on, you try and direct the horse, you train the horse and you conquer the craft of riding the horse.  Life and baseball is no different. The best thing to do when you come off a big loss is shake it off, go to bed and come back stronger the next day. Then, you perfect your craft and win the game.  It's the hardest thing to do in life, but if you do and you succeed, it's gratifying and it makes you hungrier.  Today the Yankees turned yesterday's bad night into a good win today. And something else happened... Phil Hughes got the win.
Phil Hughes in my opinion was the story today.  8 innings and only allowing 4 hits and no runs.  Most importantly, he didn't give up a home run.  It was the Phil Hughes that we were sold on from years ago.  The bullpen, consisting of Shawn Kelley and Mariano Rivera gave up the only 2 runs.  No big deal because the Yanks scored 4.

2 solo shots came from the bats of Chris Stewart and Lyle Overbay today.  That gave the Yanks 2 runs.  In the 6th, Travis Hafner singled and Robinson Cano scored and in the 7th, Brett Gardner singled and Eduardo Nunez scored.  There were your 4 and another victory for the Yankees.

Final today: Yankees 4 - Athletics 2.

Enjoy this beautiful Saturday on the East coast.  Spring is finally here... thank God!
