When Jason Giambi was really "on", he was on the Oakland Athletics. When he came to the Yankees, he did the job he could do, but with the steroid issue swirling and injury, the guy kind of faded away. Not gonna lie, a ton of us couldn't wait until he was out of Bronx... he was sucking the life out of us, that's how I felt at least. Then Jason eventually wound up in Colorado where he was liked again. Good for him.
Now, according to Tony Renck of the Denver Post, read HERE, Giambi is drawing interest from teams... I'm not kidding. Renck writes: "Free agent Jason Giambi has received calls from a few teams but remains unsigned. He's working out five days a week, determined to get one last shot."
Hey, God Bless him. We just wrote a great piece here on BYB called CALLING IT QUITS: WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH? No, we didn't mention Giambi in it, but one has wonder when the body just can't do it anymore. Hey, if Giambi thinks he can still give something to a team to help them win... hey, go for it. Who the hell am I to judge?
If anything happens with Giambi, we will be sure to let you all know. After all...Once a Yankee, always a Yankee...
