RED SOX SIGN MIKE NAPOLI

I think we all saw it coming... Mike Napoli has signed a deal with the Red Sox according to WEEI.com HERE. It's a 3 year deal worth $39 million, according to ESPN, HERE. Oh my God, the Red Sox overpaid for this guy, huh?
This deal is amplified for us Yankee fans because of Russell Martin's mad dash to Pittsburgh.  We currently have no top catcher and while many of us want to see the combination of Francisco Cervelli and Austin Romine take the reigns for the Yankees backstop in 2013, I believe that in the back of Cashman's mind, he wants someone more steady and battle tested.  We'll have to see what this Napoli deal does for whatever move the Yankees do next.

Finally, thinking about this deal Napoli got... maybe Martin should have waited until Napoli got signed... he could have gotten a bigger deal.  Who knows... just a thought. Congrats to Mike Napoli...welcome to the rivalry.
