YANKEES INJURY UPDATE; GARDY, DROB, AND MO

Although there has not been a tremendous amount on new news regarding the recovery of Brett Gardner, David Robertson, and Mariano Rivera there are a few nuggets we found and wanted to pass along...

Brett Gardner...Out since May with a strained right elbow, took batting practice and could be back for the Subway Series, which begins Friday at the Stadium. “He’s going to start hitting pretty soon,” Girardi said. “I think it’s possible we could have him next weekend or the series after that.”

David Robertson...DRob remains further away from return with his strained left oblique after his bullpen session was scratched because of rain in Tampa yesterday and could be pushed back to tomorrow.  “We’ve still got to get him a bullpen and more than one gameGirardi said

Mariano Rivera...Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reported yesterday that Rivera still does not have a set date for his knee surgery. Mo, who made an appearance Thursday at a charity dinner in Puerto Rico, was still walking with a limp, said, "I'm good. I'm feeling good." "We're thinking about (the timetable)." Asked if he misses the game, Rivera said: "I miss it a lot. It is (killing me)."  It's definitely killing us to Mo.  We wish you a speedy procedure and recovery.
