Hoch says: "Manager Joe Girardi said that he does not expect Gardner back until at least the All-Star break after this setback, his second since suffering a strain making an outfield catch in April. Girardi said that he cannot be sure exactly when the Yankees will get Gardner back."

So what happens now? Do the Yankees just continue to hodge-podge together a left field consisting of Raul Ibanez, Jayson Nix, DeWayne Wise and Andruw Jones? Does that make sense? And if it does, how can we get the Yankees to start playing situational hitting with whatever speed they have to get more wins playing "actual" baseball rather than cranking out homers? Look, I'm not complaining, I love the homers and I love the wins, but if you get too used to hitting homers to score runs and it doesn't happen in games, well, you lose games...and then you start to lose them consistently.
It's just a question. Hopefully the Yankees have an answer. I just feel really bad for Gardner and I want him back in the lineup, it really will energize us, I believe that.
