Joba Chamberlain believed he’d be on a mound in June after his
trampoline accident. I’m not
sure if he meant a major league mound or a mound in the backyard of his house. Ankle injuries suck and while I don’t expect
to see this guy this year, you need to appreciate Joba’s fight. He wants to
get back. He wants to prove to the Yankees, his teammates and us fans that he wants
to win again with the New York Yankees.
Give him credit.
It's being reported HERE that in about 2 weeks, Joba's walking boot will be removed. That's a great sign. The New York Post had a nugget about Joba and how he’s
currently training…not standing, but sitting on a stool and throwing. Clearly it’s baby steps and he’s wearing the boot the next 2 weeks limits his training, but the guy wants it. On Thursday, Joba will be back in New York and
it’s being reported that on Friday he’ll have his foot looked at.
If anything comes out of that doctor’s visit, we’ll be sure
to bring it to you right here at Bleeding Yankee Blue. We want the guy back too, I just don't see him coming back this season.
