WHY IBANEZ IS CLUTCH IN CAMDEN YARDS

You have to admit, the Orioles have a decent group of guys, many of them have talent and I was expecting a blow out for the Yankees after they got their first win of the season last night. Well...I'll take a win, not a blow out, but whatever...we just need a winning streak.Freddy Garcia started for New York and he gave up 4 runs. I guess you could say it could have been worse, but luckily the Yankees were able to tie it in the 6th inning. The biggest problem is he pitched 4 2/3 innings and threw 5 wild pitches. That bothered me...why did that happen?

Derek Jeter led off the game with a home run and passed Rickey Henderson on the Yankees All-Time list with 25. That's nuts to me, but he is the Captain, gotta love that...read HERE.Many nice highlights tonight. For instance, big ups to David Phelps who just pounded the strike zone with fast balls and retired 7 in a row and had 4 strikeouts. You got to love that.

David Robertson came in and got a strikeout and retired the side in the 8th inning. That adds to his strikeout total for money that Bleeding Yankee Blue (HERE) is raising for High Socks for Hope. (Buy a Bleedingyankeeblue.com shirt now.)

Boone Logan came in in the 9th inning with the game knotted at 4 and I'm not going to lie, I threw up in my mouth alittle. It's not a good feeling to have when Logan's in there. I like Logan, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but in a game tied at 4, I'd rather see...well, anyone else. My opinion of course and things could change...I'm just sayin'. At the end of the day, he did fine...and we moved on.

Cory Wade
came in and was in a pickle in the 9th...men on base, I was pretty amped up. At that moment I was thinking, we need to beat Buck and the O's...no question. Good for the Yanks and Wade, the Orioles stranded the bases loaded.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, Cory Wade struck out the side. Clay Rapada came in in the 11th and it all worked out again. The bullpen was great tonight.

In the top of the 12th inning, Robinson Cano knocked a hard one off the glove of Mark Reynolds and got a double. Alex Rodriguez immediately hit a dribbler to second base and sacrificed Cano to third. When there were 2 outs, the O's walked Curtis Granderson. Now, 1st and 3rd, 2 outs and Raul Ibanez came to the plate. He cranked it over Nick Markakis' head in right center and knocks in 1 run when it counted...stand up double. NICE!

Then Mariano Rivera comes in... 1, 2, 3... ballgame over, Yankees win and Ibanez is the Hero. Read WHY IBANEZ WILL PROVE DOUBTING FANS WRONG. What I suggested seems to be coming true...so far.

Final Score tonight: Yankees 5 - Orioles 4.

I apologize in advance if any highlights are incorrect. It's late, extra innings and I'm tired...Go Yanks!

  1. I will admit I had my doubts about Ibanez - I have been proven very wrong! I have heard he is a really great guy and now I am realizing how clutch this newest Yankee can be.
