WHY FREDDY GARCIA STUNK UP THE BRONX

Freddy Garcia is not that special surprise we had last season when the Yankees signed by he and Bartolo Colon and we smiled ear to ear with happiness because those boys were outstanding in 2011. No, it's a different year and it's clear, "The Chief" may be "The Dud" and couple that with Phil Hughes stinking up the joint in his last outing and you really need to think about just when the Yankees will upgrade to guys like Andy Pettitte and Michael Pineda.

Tonight Freddy allowed 5 runs, and 9 hits. His ERA is just shy of 7.00. That's horrendous. I'm not sure what happened to Freddy. Maybe the signing of Andy Pettitte got in his head. Maybe he's just off this season. No one knows, but I'd say no one is going to stick around to see if he will straighten out. My guess is the moment they're ready, the Yankees will bring in Pineda or Pettitte, whomever is first, to fill the rotation holes. My opinion of course, we will see.Derek Jeter hit yet another home run tonight and he's just on fire. Keep it up Jeet, keep it up! Curtis Granderson cranked one out as well. Both guys have 3 homers each this year.
Carl Pavano pitched a good 7 innings for the Twins. That son of a gun drives me up a wall. He barely pitched for the Yankees in the 4 years he was with us because of injury, but then he goes to the Twins and actually pitches. Nuts, I know.

Play of the game tonight came from Curtis Granderson in the 7th inning who ran across the outfield and made a terrific catch on a fly ball from Justin Morneau. Outstanding Granderson, good work.

Final Score tonight: Yankees 7 - Twins 3. So we lost, so what. Now we just need to win the series and forget this game...bottom line.
