WHY THE YANKEES BEAT PIRATES 10-3

Alex Rodriguez had 2 hits and 3 RBIs and has been looking really good this spring.

Andrew McCutchen hit a 2 run homer off of Michael Pineda, who was the starter, in the first inning. Even Pineda admitted he was opening his shoulder up a bit, but he adjusted and was rolling after that. Pineda ended up pitching 72 pitches, striking out 5 and walking 1.
Mariano Rivera struck out 1 in his inning to get in some extra work and pitched a perfect fourth.

Derek Jeter is still out with a strained calf, Russell Martin and Nick Swisher are still slowed by groin injuries and there you go.

Another Spring training game in the books, Yankees win 10-3. Read it all HERE. Day game today, 1pm.
