Here's what Jennings said about the Joba Soap Opera:
"...it seems we now have an idea of the best-case scenario. Yesterday Chamberlain told Brian Cashman that he’s hoping to be on a mound by July.
“That’s what he told me the doctors were telling him,” Cashman said....In theory, that means this season is not completely ruled out. But all of this is theoretical at this point. There’s not nearly enough information to know how quickly or how completely Chamberlain will heal. For now, the risk of infection is a signficant concern, but if the doctors are willing to let him out of the hospital, that would be a good sign."
Look, it is true, if you focus on the positive now and maybe Joba grows up after this nasty situation, maybe he returns to the Yankees and maybe, just maybe he'll learn the right way to fall into place as a New York Yankee. There is the other side of this coin though and it has to do with patience. How much more patience will the Yankees have in this guy who, much like Phil Hughes, just can't seem to get on track? There's always something. Some will blame the Yankees for their handling of these kids, I'm not going there right now, but I will suggest an awful lot of bad luck with Joba and Phil. It's nuts.
