Packing a lunch is not unusual for the everyday working Joe but seems unusual for a pitching ace like CC Sabathia. Apparently the conversation with Cashman regarding weight was taken to heart. CC's now brown baggin' this spring bringing healthier foods to camp in an attempt to keep the weight off. Read HERE. Keep brown baggin' CC! I like seeing you are focused for 2012.
#9 "I'll retire once!"
Mariano Rivera isn't taking a shot at Andy Pettitte when he says that, he only means for him personally, when he's done, he's done. Says Rivera: "I know I’m going to make the right decision, I don’t want to come back [after I’ve retired].” Read the New York Post story HERE.
#8 Sweet Lou's back
Lou Piniella starting doing games on the Yes Network and it was nice to see Lou with Michael Kay, Paul O'Neill and the gang. Read HERE.
#7 Nunez needed time
We all know Eduardo Nunez had his bruised right hand and was continually trying to take batting practice because doctors told him everything was fine. The Yankees needed to shut him down for a few days because he had pain when he swung the bat. Well, finally, we can report that Nunez is swinging a bat again. Read HERE. It seems that BYB had it right when we suggested "Only you know your body."
#6 Face Off
New York’s Robinson Cano and Denzel Washington faced off in some friendly Yankee Trivia on Leno a few weeks ago...watch HERE. Cano comes out swinging making Denzel sweat. The famous actor comes back and forces extra innings. Denzel gets the “win” ... however I think Cano took it easy on him.
#5 Former Yankee Hero sticks with the Reds?
Aaron Boone, our favorite Yankees third baseman in 2003 hasn't really hung around the Yankees since that magical night, and news is he will end up being the Grand Marshal at the Opening Day Parade for the Cincinnati Reds on April 5th. Read abut it HERE. It always bothered me the way Boone just vanished from Yankeeland after that historic moment, but...whatever.
#4 Cervelli reacts to BYB
It doesn't happen often but when it does it's special. BYB recently put together a fun little post called WHAT IF JEET ACTUALLY DID TWEET? In it, Casey put together a few "mock" Jeter Tweets, including Cervelli. Luckily for us, Francisco Cervelli got a kick out of it. Thanks Frankie!
#3 Loud Mouth Bobby V
This guy just doesn't know what he's talking about, he's been out of the game alittle too long. After Andy Pettitte came back, here's what Bobby Valentine said about Pettitte's return. "I don't think he's coming back to where he was, call it a hunch. Is he going to be a starter or just pick people off? I thought they had too much pitching before. Now what do they have? Too, too much pitching." Read HERE. I thought you were a major league manager Bobby...you can never have too much pitching, everyone knows that... just shut up.
#2 Swisher knows Ping-Pong...really
#1 Back in “Blue”
Nick Swisher brings his skills to the table. The vibrant Swisher takes on You Tubes -Kev Jumba to a ping pong duel. With Facebook and You Tube accounts on the line, Swisher came out swinging like Kung Fu Panda. Dominating the game…. Swish now rules the Social Media World. Look out You Tube he’s coming for you.
