Jorge Posada: Jon Heyman reported that Jorge Posada inquired about signing with the Mets the other day, but they reportedly to have no interest because they're looking for more of a defensive catcher. Read Heyman's Tweet right HERE. Later, Ken Rosenthal tweeted HERE that Posada's agent, Seth Levinson, said "There is no truth to that report. None."
Who knows what's going on with this situation. All I know is that we here at BYB want Posada to go to a team where he feels the most comfortable. Maybe that team could be the Mets, the Orioles, the Marlins--who Jon Heyman believes that Posada may be interested in joining, read HERE, or maybe it's a mystery team, or maybe he just retires.(In Photo; Jorge Soler)
Jorge Soler: Although the Yankees are high on Cuban outfielder Yoennis Cespedes, they also have their eye on another Cuban outfielder named Jorge Soler. Soler is just 19 years old and the Yankees believe he has the same upside as Cespedes. Read more about Soler right HERE. And according to Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus, the Yankees could be the front runners for Soler. Check out Goldstein's tweet HERE.John Danks: An interesting story from the Chicago Sun Times reports that White Sox GM Kenny Williams is shopping John Danks as the Winter Meetings draw closer, mostly because there are doubts that they'll be able to sign him to a long term deal, as he's a free agent after the 2012 season. But, according to the report, "Kenny asked for everyone on our roster in return". Check out the entire story right HERE.
Look, Kenny Williams isn't just going to give Danks away for nothing because he knows Danks is a good pitcher. The White Sox like Austin Romine, and Kevin Davidoff believes that the Yankees won't part ways with Dellin Betances or Manny Banuelos in a trade for Danks. Read that HERE. Honestly, if Brian Cashman won't part ways with Betances or Banuelos for Danks, I really don't see him parting ways with Jesus Montero either. I expect this story to heat up as the Winter Meetings begin on Monday. Stay tuned.
