Derek Sanderson Jeter is coming back Ladies and Gentlemen. According to him, he feels good and he's ready. Today in Trenton, the Captain took a closer step to returning to the Bronx, playing on a smaller stage, but playing non the less.
Jeet went 1 for 2 today and played a decent defense with no problems. So will he be playing in Flushing tomorrow? No, but why rush it, Nunez is in the shortstop role right now and the Yankees are winning, so there's no need to rush back. If Jeter plays well tomorrow in Trenton, the Captain I'm sure will be back with the big show on Monday against the Indians like they originally planned.
And that comes to my next question; when will he hit his 3000th? Well if you read WHY I KNOW WHEN JETER HITS 3000, I wrote that Jeet will hit his 3000th on July 15th. Hmm. I wonder how off I'll be? The reality is, if he feels good and gets 1 hit every day for 6 days, he's at 3000 on July 9th at home against the Rays. That's also if he plays every day. The way I see it, the Yankees will do everything they can to have him do it at home and it could happen by the 9th. But reality says, it's a mystery and I'm sticking with my crazy prediction of July 15th.
Like I said in my post" " Now, if I’m right, it would be a pretty good guess, but if I’m wrong, it goes back to my point… NO ONE KNOWS."
Jeter said of his injury: "I feel good, there are no problems whatsoever." I hope so, I can't wait.
