WHY WE SHOULD BLAME THE MOON

"Looks a lot like a big egg in the sky, or a cantaloupe."

AJ Burnett pitched 7.2 innings, gave up 5 hits, 1 run and 8 strikeouts. To me, AJ did a great job tonight and held it down. Yes, early on he was having slight trouble, but worked out of it and kept the Indians to 1 with the help of the bullpen. Strangely, the Yankee offense could not scratch together 2 runs to take the lead or even tie the game at any point tonight. They had many opportunities, but couldn't do it. What can you say, it was a full moon. The biggest issue out of Yankeeland tonight was the injury to Derek Jeter. Yes, while he is now 6 hits away from 3000, our Captain was pulled tonight because of a sore right calf. While this injury will probably heal just fine, it's disappointing because all of Yankeeland wants the Cap to get his 3000 in style. Now though, it's on hold. I mean, is his milestone taking forever or is it just me? Well, now it's going to take longer. We need to wait for his injury to heal.(Photo: NY Daily News)
Jeter is just added to the list of injury for New York. Colon, Russell Martin, and Rafael Soriano, as well as Joba Chamberlain, it feels like they're dropping like flies.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I've got nothing for you. It was quiet tonight, real quiet.

Final Score: Indians 1 - Yankees 0. The good news is the Yankees have won the last 3 out of 4 and before tonight, they seemed to be rolling. Let's just chalk up tonight as a silly loss, lack of focus, lack of hitting and we come back tomorrow and continue our winning. Look, no teams' ever won 162 games. Losing sometimes happens, so the bottom line, we come back tomorrow and make it 4 of 5... It's all we can do.

  1. Full moon, indeed...LOL

We had Carrasco on the ropes in the first couple of innings, to no avail...give the kid credit, he hunkered down and pitched a gem.

And AJ kept us in throughout the night, an inch more and Swish makes that catch!

It is unacceptable that Cervelli could not lay down that bunt and I am still at a loss over Gardy's at bat in the bottom of 7th...

But you are right, overall, we took 3 of 4 from a good team (which has struggled lately but have talent) and now let's keep it up vs. the Rangers.
