The nickname given to our beloved Yankees years ago is the Bronx Bombers. I don't exactly believe that Bombers spells P-I-T-C-H-I-N-G. Bombers was a nickname given to us because of our amazing hitting over the years. Of course, we had great pitchers like Whitey Ford, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, Andy Pettitte, and Mariano Rivera. The Yankees are a team that takes pride in their offense. The Yankees are proud to boast about some the most well known hitter of all time like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, and Joe Dimaggio.
Enough with the history lesson though, What I'm trying to say is that the Yankees are a team built around offense. Of course, pitching wins championships, but if 2 or 3 of our pitchers gets on hot streaks and the other 2 use the offense to pick them up, the Yankees can become a truly great team this year. They have arguably the best offense in baseball, one of the best bullpens in baseball, and as a matter of fact their pitching is not worst in the league either. It is right in the middle.Every team goes through losing streaks like the Yankees just did. What I know is that once guys like Teixeira, Swisher, Posada, A-Rod, and Russell Martin get hot, we will be a tough team to beat.
