WHY WINS BRING WINS

Ivan Nova did really well tonight and did exactly what he always does, gets into alittle trouble and gets alittle nervous the second time round the order, but luckily he was able to keep his composure, keep his confidence high and get some pretty big outs. He looked real good. Read about it HERE.The bullpen tonight looked awesome and I just can't say enough about how exciting it is to see a bridge to Mo that kicks the crap out of the competition. This bridge is like the days of Lloyd, Nelson, Stanton and Mo. Just a constant pounding day in and day out to just shut to door on the other guys in the 6th inning. You have got to love that. I love to watch Soriano pitch. I have never been a true Soriano fan, but what he brings so much to the table and is just spectacular. I love that my man Joba is getting into form, the form he should have been in for the past 3 years. People can tell me all day long that the Yankees didn't screw Joba up, but I strongly disagree. If they keep him where he is, he will be loved again by so many because he will have a routine and will shine.
What can I say about Jorge Posada... a lot actually. The guy has something to prove to the New York fans and will do it this year. The best part of Posada in the DH role is he is rested and his head is right. That combination will be lethal and valuable for the Yankees this year. Mikey Blue, a BYB Senior Writer wrote WHY WE LOVE JORGE on February 10th. It basically predicted what we're all seeing now. It's good to see Jorge thriving in the DH role.
NOTE: Look for a piece on Posada tomorrow morning, you won't be disappointed.
I love Alex and his approach at the plate this year and tonight was no different. He is in the zone and I can't contain myself. You can see it in his eyes, he's healthy and he's locked in.

I have to say I did worry alittle about Mark Teixeira's foot. He was plunked the same way he was plunked last August and that worries me because he ended screwing up that toe. Hopefully everything's OK, because we really need a healthy Mark Teixeira in the lineup. Yes, Last year he did fine, but the reality was, he was hurt and playing hurt and can you imagine if he wasn't hurt? Look, right now Tex is hot as hell. He's got to stay healthy all year. We've never seen that guy hot in the spring and having that hot streak carry over a full season, have we? I can only suspect if it works out that way, we'll have monster numbers from Tex.

Bottom line tonight, Nova did great and I'm happy for him. I know he's happy and I know that as the Yankees continue, he will get stronger, more dominant and more confident. I look forward to that. We all do I'm sure.

Next thing we need is a streak. Wins bring wins and if we can put together alittle streak in the season (or 2 or 3 or 4) we can pull away from the evil Red Sox fast. If we have a streak now, we can ride it right into the Sox series this coming weekend. What do you think?

Final score tonight, Yankees 4, Twins 3. Nice Gentlemen, Nice.
