Okay, I don't know if there is much merit or truth to this story, but
CBS Sports is reporting that the Yankees could go fishing in California for some trout...
Mike Trout that is. "
The Yankees are suddenly loaded with prospects, so why wouldn't they at least see if the Angels are willing to take some of them in exchange for the best player in baseball? Yankees GM Brian Cashman wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't at least make the phone call." But doesn't this go against everything Cashman has been saying?

As I wrote last week in our post,
GARY SANCHEZ IS UNTOUCHABLE, "
But in fairness, I'm open minded to everybody asking me about everybody. That's fine. Listen, I'm asking on players as I would hope our fan base would want me to be asking about somebody else's great, young prospect that's No. 1 in their system or super star on their roster," stated Cashman.
"Clearly, it appears that our GM is looking out for us this time around. Perhaps he is thinking more like Theo Epstein, who pieced his team together with youth and key free agents who would work in Chicago for less in order to be a part of something greater." I might be going out on a limb here, but I don't think Mike Trout is about to work for less to come to the Bronx.

Perhaps it's all a little something
WFAN's Sweeny Murti cooked up with a layer of speculation from a MLB scout. "
You don't accumulate all those prospects with the intent of keeping them all," the scout told me. "
They have value and it makes complete sense to spin off four of five of them for Trout ... It's very much a Yankees kind of move and makes too much sense for them."

If you look at what the Cubs did and how long it took them (just about five years), I think the bottom line is that we aim to be patient. The old Yankees, not so much. But, now, there is just too much money and too much at stake to grow your farm only to give it away for one player, even if right now, right this second, he is arguably one of the best in the game.
We will keep an eye on things here at the MLB Hot Stove just starts to heat up!
