MARK TEIXEIRA'S JUST IN TIME

Mark Teixeira is scheduled to be back today, just in time for the Red Sox series and more...the playoffs.  First up though, a 3 game serious that are "Must-wins!" How many times have you heard that in the past 3 weeks? It sounds ridiculous, I mean, we're talking about the Yankees here, a team with a lot of pride and cuts, yet, there have been  many, many struggles. You don't need me to rehash... so I won't.

The return of Tex is significant though. I actually believe having him there will actually help out the team, as well as a guy like ARod a bit. Maybe they can bounce morale-boosters off each other or whatever.  There's no question though, we need Teixeira.  You have to believe this when I tell you; the Boston Red Sox are going to play better than they have all season! They want to be spoilers in the next 3 games big time.  They want the Yankees to lose their way, they want them to be disoriented and messed up.  The Red Sox want to get into their head and for Bobby Valentine, trust me, beating the Yankees the next 3 games will be his own personal World Series despite the crappy season they had before.  The big thing will be that the Red Sox spoiled the Yankees season, that's it.

So the Yankees now need to bring their "A" game and Tex will be a big part of it.  According to ESPN:

"In the 30 games Teixeira has missed since originally suffering the injury Aug. 27, the Yankees have gone 17-13 and have seen their lead in the division shrink from 3½ games to a first-place tie with the Orioles. Both teams finished play Sunday with a 92-67 record.

'It has affected us,' Girardi said. 'It seemed like everyone was throwing left-handers against us, and (Teixeira) is a huge bat against left-handers.'

If Teixeira plays Monday night, it will mark only the second time both he and Alex Rodriguez have been in the Yankees' lineup since July 24, the night Rodriguez suffered a broken left hand after being hit by a pitch.

'It's the first time we'll have our whole lineup for a long time, which is really good,' Girardi said. 'It will make our lineup different. Obviously they're two middle-of-the-order hitters, No. 1. But two, it gives you the ability not to stack left-handers, which is something that we've had to fight, and at times we've been vulnerable to that.' Read the full story HERE.

Cross your fingers ladies and gentlemen... there's a big week ahead of us.  Be a Yankee fan...believe in your team!
