TRACKING ALEX RODRIGUEZ

If you read BYB regularly, and have been for a while, you know that we've been on top of everything Alex Rodriguez. We covered the hearings, and the circus surrounding it. But now that it's over, some of you are wondering what our infamous slugger is doing. We know... we thought we'd share.

Alright, maybe most of you just want to let him live his life silently, or don't care to hear about him again. Tough! I'm telling you anyway. I'm going all tabloid on you, and getting you the inside scoop. No worries, guys! You can thank me later.

On October 21, 2013, A-Rod was spotted with his girlfriend, the beautiful Torrie Wilson.

Seriously, Torrie is gorgeous. Even in workout gear, the lady is breathtaking. The former WWE Diva kicks serious butt too, so if I were ARod, I'd just quietly carry those bags, and pretend I was enjoying it.

Back in November, he watched the game between Florida State, and the Miami Hurricanes. This is him watching...

I can't seem to figure out who he was rooting for though. He looks like he's concentrating intensely. Go team!

January 4, 2014: ARod was seen arriving at LAX.

Say what you will about ARod, he is a sharp dresser. Looking good, sir.

Of course there have been the countless stories in the Daily News about him. There was his unpaid bills, his shaved legs, and more recently the story of the woman who kept him from quitting baseball (HERE). Oh, let's not forget the story they ran quoting InStyle magazine about Kate Hudson, and her shock over ARod and Lance Armstrong (HERE). Seriously, the News' dislike of ARod is kind of laughable. They are grasping at straws in an attempt to further tarnish his career. I highly doubt he needs help. Lay off the guy, geesh!

Okay, so what is ARod really doing? Mostly, just being a dad. You can scroll through his Facebook feed and see the time he is dedicating to his daughters. Those two beauties are the spotlight of his page.

He's doing some traveling, and even got to watch his nephew play baseball.

Look, I know a lot of folks don't like him, and that's fine. I believe in giving celebrities their privacy. Regardless of anything else, they are just regular Joe's, with bigger houses, and better cars. I don't know where ARod is all of the time, and I am okay with that. I don't think anyone should want to know. I hope that wherever he is, and with whomever, he is reflecting on his actions. I hope he is mentally preparing for whatever comes after this suspension.

And I hope that he is enjoying time with his daughters. They deserve some time with their daddy. Despite what your personal feelings are toward him, he is still their hero. Daddy's always are in the eyes of their little girls.

WHY IS ALEX RODRIGUEZ IN BEVERLY HILLS?

Sure, this is gossip and I hate to even report about it but it is interesting.  Alex Rodriguez was with Torrie Wilson in Beverly Hills looking at homes. TMZ is reporting that the 2 of them were looking "house shopping", read HERE.  Look, I hate to even be drawing conclusions from this, it's gossip but the fact of the matter is, with everything going on with Alex, the trade rumors, the hammering of this poor guy in every game, you do need to think about it if you're a fan. That being said, USA Today has a piece out titled Yankees, Alex Rodriguez far from Splitsville, Bob Nightengale writes:

"You cannot be traded when no one wants you.

Not one team, a Yankees official told USA TODAY Sports, has called the club asking about Rodriguez. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the Yankees do not publicly discuss trade possibilities.

Then again, as a person familiar with Rodriguez's thinking said, there is not one team for which Rodriguez is willing to waive his full no-trade clause. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the topic."

Harsh but true. In other words, as I suggested when the season ended, Alex most likely isn't going anywhere. I just don't see it. In the end, the idea that Alex is looking at homes in Beverly Hills is just an item in Alex's life and probably nothing more. The reality is he can buy as many properties as he wants.  He's loaded and there shouldn't be any real suggestion that he's moving on from the Yanks just because he's on the West Coast.

Now, truth be told, I like Alex and Torrie together.  I could go through his Rolodex and tell you who I liked him with the best, that would be Kate Hudson, but I guess the reality is I  really don't care, I just feel like it's time for this guy to be happy because it's clear to me, on the outside looking in, he can have anything he wants in the world.  He could have any woman he wanted, he could have any "thing" he wanted, and yet, he seems like the loneliest guy in the room.

Maybe that's why I feel like I have to constantly root for him.

Who knows, enjoy this and Happy Saturday.

WHY THE YANKEES ARE HUMMING RIGHT NOW

You can usually see when things start to gel for a team and right now my New York Yankees are looking good... real good.  Sometimes you almost don't like to get over confident as a fan, but the bottom line is, if a team is going to win games, you at least want them to beat a division rival.  Beating the Rays feels like Christmas morning and I don't care if it's February or October, it's a big deal.
Ivan Nova made me happy tonight.  8 innings for a starting pitcher is what you want.  Love it. He went 8, allowed 4 hits and only 1 run, he also had 5 strikeouts.  Give me that for 3/4th's of the season and I'll hug you and won't let go...not you... you!

A few nice highlights... then I'm going to rail on Alex Rodriguez... don't worry, I'll be brief.  Mark Texieira and Robinson Cano homered tonight and both Eric Chavez and Nick Swisher had doubles.

Oh and don't forget Rafael Soriano is just rolling right now, collecting yet another save and the Yanks have now won 2 in a row to the Tampa Bay Rays.   For the most part, those are our highlights tonight.  Happy days are here again.
Alex Rodriguez was 0-2 tonight with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.  Can someone please tell me what is going on in Alex Rodriguez's head right now?  Is it personal? Is he over thinking? The strikeouts are ridiculous right now. I feel like in every single game, he K's. I was curious so I looked it up. On average, he has struck out 48 times in 54 games. Obivously a few games he doesn't strike out and others there are multiple K's, but that's 48 times in 201 At Bats.  In contrast, Derek Jeter has struck out just 27 times in 227 At Bats.  For June 6th, that's a lot Alex, get your head straight...turn it around.
Stop thinking about Kate Hudson or Cameron Diaz or your latest flame Torrie Wilson and start focussing and kick some ass on the field. We need you Alex, we need you.

OK, I'm done ranting...

Final Score: Yankees 4 - Rays 1. The goal is the winning the series, but let's be honest, I'll take the sweep...Go Yankees!
