HELIOT RAMOS & YANKS FINALIZE DEAL

The Yankees have reportedly finalized a trade to acquire outfielder Heliot Ramos from the Giants, getting another right-handed bat they've spent weeks chasing. Assuming the deal clears medicals, Ramos adds some much-needed thump to a lineup desperate for reinforcements.

And that's where the applause ends for me. I'm beside myself.

The Yankees struck out where it mattered most. No catcher. No shortstop. The front office's explanation? The market at those positions was "exceptionally thin."

That's a convenient excuse. 

Championship-caliber organizations solve problems. This front office just explained why it couldn't. Once again, the Yankees settled for a partial fix while glaring holes remain untouched. If this was the plan, it's hard to call the trade deadline anything but another disappointing performance from Brian Cashman and company.

Boycott this friggin' team. The front office has driven it into the ground.
