YANKEE FANS GET A BIG FAT ROCK

The Yankees have screwed us fans once again.  With no worth in the players that they want to trade, and not budging on the guys we actually need to try and make a run for the playoffs, Yankee brass are officially like the guy with his privates in his hand and nothing to do but to stand there. In other words, nothing will be done to improve our team or remove the pit in our stomachs.

This means that the Yankees truly believe in their team... or they just don't have a single clue about what to do at this moment.  Hal Steinbrenner needs to act folks. I have defended this team's play for weeks blaming it on bad leadership.  When a team is down and leadership doesn't show urgency, teams, even individuals become complacent, quiet, and dare I say.... worthless.  This is a mental thing now.  And when doubt creeps into a brain like it has in this Yankee team, there is only one thing that can be done.

Change.

We have read about speculation about what this Yankee team needs and doesn't need for weeks.  We have seen every baseball insider be wrong about anything related to the New York Yankees and their efforts to improve. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WERE WRONG.   Remember when all the morons out there said the Yankees were gonna be sellers 2 weeks ago?  We were 9 games back at the time and we were selling according to them.

No... that didn't happen.

Remember when the Yankees were gonna "buy" to make a run for the playoffs? Remember that? Remember when they were going to get an outfielder, a 3rd baseman? Remember that? No... that didn't happen.

This comes down to one thing.  Common Sense.  Any true fan understands what's missing on this team.  It doesn't matter if a team is mediocre or truly great.  What the Yankees need and have needed is a rally cry.  But a rally cry from leadership and if they aren't gonna get it from a complacent Aaron Boone, and Brian Cashman is going to sit on his ass and just watch the trade deadline go by, then someone in that fucking building needs to get Hal Steinbrenner on the red phone and explain to him about his father's franchise and legacy built all those years ago.  Because right now it's gonna be torched because of bad decisions, poor leadership and lack of urgency. Yankee fans are fed up.

We are the last place Yankees.  Sure, we could be the second to last place Yankees once the season ends, but right now we are last.  We, the fans? We deserve better.  But today, today the Yankee suits did the worst thing they could ever do to a fanatical fan base. They gave us a rock. A big nothing... not moves, not cares, nothing but a big middle finger for all we've done for our love for this team.  This means that they do not care what the fans think.  This means that complacency and mediocrity is the wave of the Yankees future.  Yes, we got a rock today.  We don't deserve it, but that's what we got.  It's wrong and it's changed my view of this team and how ownership runs it.

I have never really given Brian Cashman a hard time over the years.  I don't find him to be the greatest GM by any means, but I do like some of the pieces he has snagged over the years.  Until this year.  Cashman made some pretty bad mistakes with some of the players we've acquired for the 2023 season.  He admits those mistakes, but that's about it.  What we needed today was for Brian Cashman to fix those mistakes.  To come up with some upgrades, with some improvements.  But no. Nothing.

You all know how I feel about that scab Aaron Boone.  He's worthless, lost, overrated, does not command respect, and is hanging on a home run highlight from 2003 against the Boston Red Sox that is now tainted because he is so stupid, none of us care anymore.

He needs to be fired and replaced with a manager who understands hard choices and hardnosed baseball.  There is no such thing as "rest" when a team is on a winning streak.  There are better ways to manage a bullpen when the game's on the line.  Managers aren't friends with players... they're managers.  He understands nothing about leadership, and it needs to end this year.

And Hal, the top of the heap.  This guy means well, and we have seen recent glimpses of frustration. But the man is out of touch with us fans.  The best thing Hal Steinbrenner can do this year is to cut bait with Cashman and Boone and just end this season and put us all out of our misery.  He is on top because of his name, not because of his decision making and Steinbrenner needs to recognize that.  Either remind everyone with a suit at Yankee stadium that you are the Boss or sell this team to someone who gives a crap about winning, because I have news for you, all of Yankee brass are collecting pay checks and milking you dry and NOT remembering who we are and what their jobs are.

Hal, listen to me; We are the Yankees... and us fans? We expect to win.  Excellence is no longer in our DNA. We are stuck in the past and not willing to shake the cobwebs toward a future that looks bright again.

We got rocks today, Hal. Us fans got rocks...  a big, fat nothing.  It's frustrating, annoying, it's disappointing and it's embarrassing.  I for one, am tired of it.

Do better. You're out of touch.
