RUH ROH! THE CARLOS RODON UPDATE I DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR

All eyes on Carlos Rodon....and maybe some people holding their breath, too. His rehab is taking longer than expected, which is making everyone restless.

I know I have been anxiously waiting for Rodon to make his debut in pinstripes, but it sounds like we may need to wait a little bit longer. How long? No one knows, but it sounds like he has had a setback, read more HERE. Rodon has fully healed from his left forearm strain, but now he is dealing with a "barking" back since last week according to Aaron Boone.

Now the Yankees will wait for test results and we will all hope and pray for good news. The pitching staff has been bit hard by the injury bug so early in the season and the sooner we can get some arms back the better. Not to mention that we all want to see Rodon in action and hope that the Yankees six year, $162 million investment pays off.

I don't think it's time to panic yet, but some others do. I stumbled across THIS today on WFAN and thought it was an interesting take. It's a little early in the season to be throwing in the towel and giving up on him but to quote WFAN, "Let me tell you what that means: he’s screwed."

I'd rather stay positive here and hopefully Boone is right instead. "I think it's frustrating for him, certainly," Boone said. "Again, elbow's good. I don't think this is any big deal, other than a nuisance that's slowing him a little bit. We definitely know he’s going to be worth the wait. We just want to make sure he's good to go when that time comes."

I understand some concern due to his injury history but until Rodon is evaluated I'm not going to write him off. I think sometimes WFAN is a little too overdramatic for my liking. I am hoping this will prove to be another one of those times and hopefully we can laugh about this later.

It's not often that I agree with Boone, but I do think Rodon could be a game changer for our starting rotation. I might have to mark this day down on the calendar, it may not happen again for a looooonng time.
