LEMAHIEU IS A GORGEOUS EDITION TO YANKS

Anyone who doesn't like this two year deal with DJ Lemahieu hasn't come to the realization that the Yankees are just not really interested in Manny Machado.  Or maybe they are... although I strongly doubt it... and I'm OK with that.

DJ Lemahieu is a solid player and he flew under the radar and I have a feeling Yankee fans will be pretty happy with him in the long run. Many are unhappy right now about him and that's sad, because clearly you don't get it. But you will... eventually.  The New York Post writes this:

"The team agreed to a two-year deal worth $24 million with DJ LeMahieu, a source confirmed. The 30-year-old can play all four infield positions but was the Rockies’ starting second basemen the last four seasons.

The addition of LeMahieu would seem to end any chance the Yankees had of signing Machado, since LeMahieu will be joining — barring any other moves — a crowded infield that already includes Gleyber Torres at second, Miguel Andujar at third and the recently signed Troy Tulowitzki at shortstop, as well as Luke Voit and Greg Bird vying for the first base job."

And again... the Yankees are just not interested in Manny Machado.  By the way, that's OK.  The Yankees are a solid club without Machado.  Adding him could be good and definitely an upgrade, but again... if they really wanted this guy, it would have happened already. The money demands are too high... the years are too long and the hustle thing clearly a concern. Cashman's playing it smart and I like it.

Anyway... welcome DJ. Looking forward to seeing you in pinstripes.
