"Today is the anniversary of the birth day of Lou Gehrig. Later today, within YES’ Yankees Pre-Game Show (6:30 pm), we’ll feature a segment in which Jack Curry interviews Pat Quinn.
Quinn was diagnosed with ALS (“Lou Gehrig’s Disease”) in 2013 and was a co-founder of the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge.”

"Quinn lost his voice last year, but he 'regained' it through the magic of new technology from a company named Lyrebird. Using Lyrebird’s technology, Quinn uses his eyes to 'type' letters and words into a computer, and his voice is projected from the computer.
Quinn tells Curry: 'Because of this new technology, I am much more willing to get involved in conversations. I promise you, I’m not going to shut up.'”
