TYLER AUSTIN OUT!

This is portion of my exchange with BYB Managing Editor Jeana Bellezza just alittle while ago.

True story.

Baseball can be brutal on players sometimes. Today it threw Tyler Austin a curve... pardon the pun.

ESPN writes that Tyler has a fractured foot and he'll miss some time:

" Tyler Austin's spring training bid to unseat Greg Bird at first base is over, and the Yankees' decision to sign Chris Carter looks prescient.

Austin fouled a ball off his left foot early this week taking batting practice during a pre-spring training workout at the minor league complex, and manager Joe Girardi said an MRI Friday found a small bone break.

Austin will be in a boot for three weeks and won't start baseball activities for six weeks."

Look, we root for the kids here, it's what we do and now we will root for Greg Bird at first base until Tyler gets back into the groove.

Get well soon, Wonderboy.  Don't worry, your fan base will not leave you... we're right here.
