They just claimed righty pitcher and 26 year old Layne Somsen off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds. According to Cincinnati.com, "Somsen, who made his big-league debut earlier this month and appeared in two games for the Reds, has been claimed off waivers by the Yankees.
Somsen pitched a scoreless inning in Philadelphia during his MLB debut in a 4-3 loss to the Phillies on May 14. He allowed five earned runs on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts and two home runs allowed in 1 1/3 innings in a 15-6 loss to the Indians on May 16."
