Can we break out now? Who the hell knows.
I enjoyed not writing recaps the last few days. It's a waste of my time, especially when they lose and the way I see it, if the Yankees lose, you know about it before I get it out to you anyway. And so, I'm out... and life goes on.
The Yankees won last night and it was a shutout. The story of the night is that CC Sabathia grinded and got the win. I'm not getting into big hits and big plays... it was CC and you gotta give the lug credit.
I believe in this guy. He's a gamer, always has been and now the pressure is off him and so he can go out there and do his thing when folks don't believe he can. It's the perfect scenario for a guy like him. Now he can build his 2016 resume and hopefully do this about a dozen more times.
Last night CC Sabathia went 7 innings, gave up 6 hits and struck out 6 walking only 2. The most important part of that line is that he didn't not allow a home run. He kept the Orioles off balance.
The Yankees scored 7. The only other thing to think about in last night's game is Brett Gardner got plunked, but it was with the bases loaded. Tests came back negative, but Gardy will now be day to day.
Bottom line... I'm not going to get too excited about this Yankee win. It's expected. They have the personnel to win every day. The story last night is all CC Sabathia. He grinded.... I'm damn proud of that big lug.
Final: Yankees 7 - Orioles 0
