ON YANKEES PEN: "THOSE GUYS ARE RIDICULOUS"
Nice piece in the New York Post about the Yankees and their pen and just how good they are... and Aroldis Chapman isn't even back from his suspension yet. Here's a portion:
"...the back end of the Yankees’ bullpen is as close to flawless as you can get.
And it soon will get fixed with an upgrade.
Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller each faced three Mariners Sunday, each recorded three strikeouts in preserving the Yanks’ 4-3 victory at Yankee Stadium. Recently, their relief numbers have been almost fantasy.
Betances has struck out eight straight batters and 14 of 15. Miller, who picked up his third save, has struck out seven in a row and 12 of the 17 guys he has faced this season. Neither has yielded an earned run.
'Those guys are ridiculous,' Brian McCann said. 'They’re as uncomfortable an at-bat as you can have in baseball.'”
Now... you gotta wonder if there will be a hiccup when Chapman shows up or if they'll continue to be incredible together. Some times when new personalities come in, there is some disruption. We will just need to wait and see.
Anyway, I just wanted to point out this good piece by Fred Kerber. Good stuff.
