WOULD THE YANKEES TRY FOR KENTA MAEDA?

If you're asking me, the answer's no.  The end.

No seriously, if you don't know Kenta Maeda, he's a Japanese pitching sensation, aren't they all, and according to Hardball Talk:

"...the Hiroshima Carp have agreed to post Japanese right-hander Kenta Maeda."

It is believed he will post with a $20 million posting fee.

Hardball Talk continues:

"Maeda turns 28 in April and owns a 2.39 ERA over eight seasons in Japan. He had a 2.09 ERA and 175/41 K/BB ratio over 206 1/3 innings this past season. He might not have the upside of other recent high-profile arrivals like Tanaka or Yu Darvish, but he should still draw plenty of interest."

To be honest, I like the idea of getting a guy like Jeff Samardzija instead.  It cuts through all the B.S. and we're getting a good pitcher out of the deal, and probably cheaper too.

Anyway, I wanted to pass this along. Stay tuned...
