COMING UP HUGE
I tell my Little Leaguers... find your pitch... drive it. Find your swing, find your pitch, find a big moment... because you earned it. Slade Heathcott came through huge last night. Good for him... good for the Yankees.
The Yankees played together wonderfully last night. Pitching and hitting complimented each other, except the hitting showed up late. No matter... it showed.
CC Sabathia had his best start of the season for sure. He looked terrific, 6.2 innings pitched, he gave up 3 hits and zero runs. The only Rays run given up was by Justin Wilson. That came in the bottom of the 8th.
In the Yankee ninth, ARod doubled knocking in Brett Gardner. Then, with 2 men on, Slade Heathcott cranked out a 2 run homer and just like that, the Yankees pulled ahead.
Andrew Miller then shut down the Rays and earned save 33.
The game was big for the Yankees.... the win was necessary... let's get more.
Final: Yankees 4 - Rays 1
