STRIKING FIRST & GRINDING IT!

The Yankees appear to be on another run.  They look terrific. Yesterday in the Bronx, they unleashed everything they had on a 6 run first inning, and what followed was their 5th win in a row.  Guys like Brian McCann have been rolling lately. Guys like Mark Teixeira are on fire.  Guys like Alex Rodriguez are just showing up and doing their job.  No Drama... just hard work and it's showing.  Yankeeland is happy right now.

Adam Warren started and got the win. He's now 4-4 on the season.  He went 6.2 innings, gave up 4 hits and only 2 runs.  Those 2 runs would be the only 2 the Angels would score.  The pen of Justin Wilson and Chris Capuano, both lefties, held the Angels to just 1 more hit.  Think about that significance of that.

The Yankee run scoring went like this...

In the first, Mark Teixeira sacrificed home 1 run.  Then, with Brian McCann up, there was a wild pitch, and another run scored.  Then, as AP writes:

"Brian McCann hit a two-run homer that helped chase (Garrett) Richards in a six-run opening frame..."

Brett Gardner then singled in 2 more. It was big... HUGE!

In the 2nd, Carlos Beltran knocked in another.  At this point it was 7-0.  LA came back scoring 2 in the 5th and 6th.  Then, in the 8th, Mark Teixeira walked with the bases loaded.  8-2 would be your final.

When the Yankees win, my world is happy.  How about you?

Final: Yankees 8 - Angels 2
