JOSE PIRELA WAS JUST OPTIONED

Not a great thing.  First the Yankees move Ramon Flores to AAA, now the Yankees have optioned Jose Pirela.  I hate to see the kids being jerked around like this, especially if they're contributing, but that's what the Yankees do, until they have no more options for these kids.  Then they cut them loose. Let's hope this doesn't happen to guys like Flores and Pirela.

According to ESPN:

"Needing to beef up their outfield, and now their bullpen, the New York Yankees optioned infielder Jose Pirela to their Triple-A Scranton affiliate after Wednesday's 5-4, 11-inning loss to the Washington Nationals. The announcement was made via press release after the clubhouse was closed, so neither Pirela nor manager Joe Girardi was available for comment."

And there you have it. Carry on.
