STEPHEN DREW'S SOMETHING ELSE, AIN'T HE?

Stephen Drew reads BYB... and he's proving us wrong.  I'm not much of a fan.  Steve Skinner isn't a fan. I'm pretty sure Mike O'Hara's no fan either.  But Stephen Drew is gonna make us love him. That was his plan tonight apparently. Hey... when it comes to the Yankees, I liked to be proved wrong.  Tonight was a nice one.  More on Drew in a moment.

It started with pitching. Michael Pineda gets the win tonight after going 6.1 innings, allowing 9 hits and 5 runs.  After Betances, came Andrew Miller who was truly lights out, making sure to get the Save. Tonights save was major, because the unlikely hero, Stephen Drew had his moment.

The Yanks were losing 4-2 when Stephen Drew walked up.  He pinch hit for Gardy who left with a wrist injury.  He came up and cranked out a Grand Slam and just like that, the Yankees were up 6-4.  Eventually it would be 6-5... but that's when Miller shut the door. Boom.

By the way, Gardy's wrist X-ray came back negative. We'll see if he's in the lineup tomorrow. I suspect knowing Joe Girardi, he'll give Gardy a day off. Whatever works man... we don't need the guy hurt, it's the beginning of the season.

Anyway. Look...it was big win tonight.  I always like beating the Orioles.  I like beating Buck.... that's because Buck is a real good manager. Much respect Buck... but Go Yanks!

Final: Yankees 6 - Orioles 5
