YOUNG DROPS BOMBS IN NATS WIN

Chris Young couldn't hit a lick in Queens.  Suddenly he's a New York Yankee and things are like he was playing with the Diamondbacks again.  You gotta wonder what's in the water in Citi Field.

As MLB.com has it:

"The Yankees outfielder belted his first two homers of the spring, starting with a solo homer to lead off the fifth inning against Fister to tie the game at 4. Young went deep again in the sixth inning, hammering a line drive down the left-field line off right-hander Casey Janssen for a two-run homer that gave the Yankees a 6-4 advantage."

That's nice to see, and not only that, the guy we here at Bleeding Yankee Blue really want to see lead, Brian McCann... homered as well.  We love this guy... and with Derek Jeter no longer in pinstripes, many of us believe it will be McCann who will lead this club.

Bryan Mitchell started for the Yankees today. His appearance was made up of 3 1/3 innings and he only allowed 2 runs.  Not too bad considering the Yankees scored 6 today.

Overall, a good showing and it seems like every day there is a new star of the game. Oh... and yes, Spring Training means nothing, but what we are seeing are players really getting comfy right now... and that's a good thing.

Final: Nationals 7- Yankees 6
