THE PURSUIT OF ICHIRO HAS BEGUN...

and it's not the Yankees at all... it's the Miami Marlins.

Just a quick note from "MLB sources" according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick:
As you know, earlier this year, the Orioles and Blue Jays were "sniffing around" Ichiro Suzuki.  So were the Marlins, but it was unclear how serious.

We can confirm, based on this report that it's more serious now.

I said it once and I'll say it again; if Ichiro is willing to be a bench outfielder, the Yankees should sign and market him. "Ichiro Suzuki will get 3000 hits as a New York Yankee!" They're fools. Why? 2 reasons...

1. Expect Carlos Beltran to get hurt

2. When Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardner need a rest or have a pulled hammy, what are you gonna do? Have Chris Young play 2 outfield positions?

Ichiro will be cheap... get him.
