News just now about Stephen Drew and the New York Yankees. The .150 hitter is back in pinstripes.
According to my buddy boy, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com:
yankees will have deal with stephen drew. deal expected to come in at about $5M plus incentives to bring it to $6-7M.

OK guys. So what does this mean? Well, it means the Yankees are uncertain if they really want Rob Refsnyder or Jose Pirela to man second base. Now they have Stephen Drew and so, they will ease Ref and Pirela into the position. Maybe Drew can show them the ropes a bit as well.
Whatever the case, there's a trust issue here between the Yankees and the youth at second, and that's crystal clear to me. Why? Well, Drew has very good defensive skills and absolutely no bat. Now they've secured the infield defensively, that's the bottom line here. They didn't need to re-sign Drew...
My only concern with this move is hopefully it doesn't mean that one of the youngsters, Pirela or Refsnyder becomes tradeable now. The Yanks wouldn't do that... would they? God, I hope not.
Anyway, welcome back Mr. Drew. I have a feeling BYB writer, Steve Skinner is gonna have a whole lot to say about this and it probably won't be good.
I'll make sure Skinner writes up his true feelings for a BYB piece over the next few days.
I promise ladies and gentlemen.
