ICHIRO OR YOUNG? ICHIRO... FOR NOW

So, just an update on the poll we conducted a few weeks ago. The results are in and it was close, but also not too interesting to the BYB audience apparently.  Probably because we're dealing with a new comer to the Yankees in Chris Young, and a 40 year old in Ichiro Suzuki.

Both decent choices for a 4th outfielder for the New York Yankees... but let's be honest, in the grand scheme of things, either player will do the job just fine.

Here are the results:

Only 40 people voted. 52% of the votes went to Ichiro Suzuki. 47% went to Young.  Why? Well, the only thing I can suggest is that Ichiro is tested in New York.  He's done a superb job while he's been in the Bronx and when you think about what he could accomplish, possibly getting 3000 hits with the Yankees, well, that's kind of a big deal.  I'd like to see that.

Young, while the energy was necessary and exciting this September, maybe people aren't 100% sure what he can provide. OR, looking at how close the voting was... maybe they do know what he can provide... but Ichi just eke out the win.

Whatever the case, I promised I'd share the results... and there you go.  What will the Yankees do? Will they go for Ichiro or Young as their 4th outfielder or will they decide to go "Farm" in 2015?  We shall see.

For everyone who voted. Thanks! More to come.
