RUNYON 5 K RUN WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
I just wanted to let the BYB gang know that the Runyon 5K run at Yankee Stadium was huge today! Thanks to all the people involved, thanks to the official Ambassador Brett Gardner, and thanks to everyone who contributed, donated, ran, walked and supported the event! Simply amazing!
As stated in release today:
"More than 2,300 baseball fans, runners, walkers, cancer survivors, and their friends and family gathered at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, August 3rd for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation’s sixth annual Runyon 5K.
One of New York’s most unique summer events, the Runyon 5K is the only charitable run/walk that uses the iconic Stadium as its course. This year’s event raised more than $500,000 – and counting – for the nonprofit’s groundbreaking efforts to strike out cancer. Since inception, the event has raised more than $3.5 million dollars."
BYB was lucky enough to also get the highlights from today's event all wrapped into one video:
And finally, and a reminder for all of you that missed it, be sure to check out Brett Gardner's interview with us at BYB!
A really great interview for a really great cause.
BRETT GARDNER EXCLUSIVE: A RUNYON 5K RUN INTERVIEW
Terrific job all around! So glad the 6th annual Runyon 5K run was a success. I'm so glad BYB could be apart of it!
