For as long as I could remember, River Ave was where Yankee Stadium was. Now, it's Rivera Ave. Great story about greatness and this great game, not to mention the greatest city in the world... New York and the greatest closer of all time.
Just when you thought you couldn't love Mariano Rivera anymore, we embrace him once again. The tweet came from Bruce Beck of NBC Sports. It's a beautiful thing.

According to the New York Daily News, "Thomas Ferrara, one of the fans who first came up with the idea to honor his favorite pitcher, was grinning from ear to ear. 'When I went to one of my meetings in November to help propose this, I
heard stories there of street renamings that took seven or eight years,'
he said. 'So this happened relatively quickly and I think it's a
testament to how much the people love Mariano.'”And just like Mariano has always been, he didn't take the credit for this honor either, saying, "You guys, the fans made this possible... I didn’t do nothing. I just tried to do my job. You guys worked harder than me.”
Class act all the way. Congrats Mo!
