'PINEDA WATCH' IS GLORIOUS!

I like what I see from Michael Pineda. So do the Yankees, and the fans do as well.  Life is good at this moment in Yankeeland, other than the fact that we, as a family, lost a great woman in Carmen Berra yesterday. Read HERE.

This loss my friends, is devastating to the Yankee family and we all have to cross our fingers and pray for Yogi right now.  They were truly in love and were crazy about each other and we just have to try and keep Yogi sacred and loved right now in Yankeeland. Sorry to get all sappy... I'm deeply affected by that loss. Call me human... it's heartbreaking.

But in "Spring Training" Yankeeland, the rotation looks "glorious" and is something that could really turn the tide in Yankeeland.  Pitching wins ball games, we all know that.  Let's hope the recovery of Michael Pineda is complete, and the dominance returns soon. It seems to be starting.

NJ.com had a good piece about Pineda.  Jorge Castillo writes: "Pineda could not conceal his smile. The towering Dominican right-hander, 22 months removed from major shoulder surgery, had just completed an impressive return to the Yankees Friday night with by overwhelming two-time reigning American League MVP Miguel Cabrera.

The dagger, a slider biting low and away, induced a meek checked swing for strike three and Pineda’s fourth strikeout of the night.

'You just feel happy when you have that type of success against a hitter as good as him,' Pineda, 25, said of Cabrera in Spanish."

The Yankees won that game 3-2. The story though is Pineda.  Not to get too excited... babysteps here... but get alittle MORE excited! I love what I see from this kid.  I'm sure the Seattle Mariners don't right now...
