GUESS WHO'S OUT OF THE RUNNING FOR MASAHIRO TANAKA?

I knew this was going to get interesting, but I was sure the Arizona Diamondbacks would make a respectful run for Masahiro Tanaka.  I guess I was wrong.

According to Steve Gilbert from MLB.com, the Diamondbacks are out. "The D-backs are no longer in the running for the services of pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, according to a baseball source... Varying reports had the D-backs offering Tanaka a six-year deal worth more than $115 million. In addition, the team he chooses to sign with will owe the Golden Eagles a $20 million posting fee."

There is wide speculation that the Yankees and the Cubs are the finalists, but I don't care how many sources tell you that they know something that you don't know...

"It ain't over til it's over."

We all need to be patient and wait. Stay tuned on Tanaka.
