RANDY LEVINE TESTIFIES IN THE AROD MESS

Yankee President, Randy Levine testified on Tuesday at the Alex Rodriguez arbitration hearing. He denied conspiring with the MLB against ARod.

According to a report by ABC news (HERE) Levine denied "Discussing Rodriguez's discipline with Major League Baseball or Commissioner Bud Selig; and telling Rodriguez' surgeon Dr. Bryan Kelly or anyone else that he wanted the player off the field." This line of question all seems very silly to me. It's like a child asking if someone tattled on them. But, considering all the information, and speculation on the manner that the MLB handled  the investigation, and all the other events of this case, I cannot say I am surprised.

ARod had been set for a pre-interview in order to testify on his own behalf, but came down with the flu. There is no information on if the interview was rescheduled, but unless he submits to it, he will not be allowed to take the stand. If he does, however, this opens up the case to allow Team ARod to call upon a number of witnesses. One such witness would be MLB's lead investigator, Dan Mullin. He is believed to have purchased documents that he knew were stolen, though the MLB has denied that. It is safe to assume that with Mullin on the stand, Team ARod will have the opportunity to lay out the most important part of their argument. Was the investigation led by the MLB unethical, and possibly illegal?

The arbitration hearings will continue through next week. BYB will continue to bring you the info.

  1. This guy is poisoning the Yankee Tradition. He sold out Better in the Sports Illustrated Article which I will never forget. Once said if I had a choice when the game is on the line if it was Meter or A Fraud would choose Meter in a Nano Second. He will never put on the Pinstripes again and forget about the Hall of Fame. Put Munson in, if there is one who deserves it even though he is not here on this Earth.
