IS MATTINGLY GOING BACK TO THE DODGERS OR NOT?

It's strange.  Whenever you read about Don Mattingly and him managing the Los Angeles Dodgers, it always appears that there is an underlying message by the media to somehow convince you that he is not wanted there, or shouldn't be there.

Don Mattingly is a icon in New York, but if you ask some of my friends from Los Angeles, like my friend Alexis about him, he's just another guy.  It's almost like his star power hasn't translated to the rest of baseball.  That in turn is reflected in the way the media writes about him.  That's my take anyway... OK, I'm rambling...

It turns out that originally Don Mattingly wasn't going to come back at the manager of the Dodgers, but now, he is.  If you read the LA Times, they write, "Don Mattingly will return to manage the Dodgers next season. Mattingly and the Dodgers agreed on at least that much Wednesday, as both sides said they would honor their existing contract... Said Mattingly’s agent, Ray Schulte: 'Donnie’s always been a man of his word and he’s under contract.'"

Well, good for Donnie, I mean he helped turn that club around.  They started to gel, started to win, and all that crap from Ken Rosenthal suggesting that Mattingly was about to be fired earlier in the year disappeared.

Good luck to Donnie... he'll always be a legend in my mind.
