A YANKEE WIN & PETTITTE MILESTONE
Anything that Andy Pettitte does is awesome. Today, Pettitte did something big as a New York Yankee...he shut down the Mariners and got his 250th victory in baseball. Good for him... good for the Yankees!
Pettitte is now 5-3 this season. Today he pitched 7.1 innings, allowed only 3 hits and 1 run. He struck out 6. Then, once again, like clockwork, the combination of DRob and Mariano Rivera finished off the Mariners. Mo got his 22nd save.
With only 3 runs for the Yankees, it went down like this: In the first, Robinson Cano knocked in Mark Teixeira. In the 5th inning, Jayson Nix knocked in Ichiro Suzuki and later on in the 7th, Jayson Nix knocked in another run. Those are your 3... the Yanks pulled out another victory!
Final: Yankees 3 - Mariners 1
