The numbers were simple tonight... Andy Pettitte went 8 innings. He looked awesome and struck out 3. He has always been our bounce back guy and tonight was no different. I don't care that it's April... it was important.
Brett Gardner and Francsico Cervelli each had home runs tonight, both solo shots. Nothing more to say about it other than Cervelli is impressing many and you gotta respect his game right now. You know this kid has a chip on his shoulder since he was sent to the minors on the last day of Spring Training last year and he knew this year that if he had a shot, he had to deliver... and he has... he's improved his game, both offensively and defensively.

Gardy and Eduardo Nunez were both 2-3 tonight. Lyle Overbay had a 2 run single tonight... pretty nice. My take is simple... things are starting to gel and I'll get into this tomorrow, but the reality is, you have to realize these guys are a different team that we've been used to. Couple that with the fact that these guys aren't familiar playing with each other, so... it just takes a few days to get in sync. But things are happening. How do I know? Look at the picture above of Youk and Gardy.... that's brotherhood right there. Last year they were enemies. This year, they're teammates. Trust me Yankee fans... the team will start to gel, it just takes time. But back to the moment we were waiting for... Mariano Rivera. What can you say about this guy. He came tonight, the crowd erupted and you can tell, fans were on pins and needles, but Mo delivered like he always has and now officially, the Mariano Rivera Farewell Tour beings... hard to believe it's here, but it is...
Final tonight: Yankees 4 - Red Sox 2
