A quick and interesting note coming out of LoHud and Yankeesland, read HERE. Because Curtis Granderson broke his forearm and will be out for 10 weeks, there is really no way that he can learn a new position... or at least that's what it seems if you read Joe Girardi's quote below: "There’s a chance I’m going to abandon it … I don’t know how many games he would have in his rehab coming back, and that’s a concern for me. So I want him to be comfortable wherever he’s at, because his bat’s real important to us."
The plan could be that Brett Gardner stay in left field and someone like Melky Mesa could take Granderson's spot if he were to make the roster. And, as Chad Jennings says... "But if the Yankees temporarily replace Granderson with a corner outfielder, then Gardner will stay in center until Granderson rejoins the team."
All of this is interesting, and it's just unfortunate that we won't get to see this experiment with Grandy and Gardy... stay tuned...
