Well, for his sake, I hope he wants to come to the Yankees...and I wonder if the Yankees actually made any type of offer to him. We here at Bleeding Yankee Blue believe Scott Hairston would be a good fit with the Yankees. We wrote a piece about him in something titled WHAT ARE THE BACKUP PLANS AFTER SCOTT HAIRSTON?
Right now, according to Wally Matthews of ESPN, Scott Hairston is having ongoing talks with the Mets and the Yanks. Matthews writes: "According to Casey Close, Hairston's agent, talks are continuing with both teams and Hairston expects to make a decision about where he will play in 2013 in 'a matter of days.'" You can read the rest of Matthews HERE.
Hairston hit 20 home runs in 377 at bats for the New York Mets last year. He's 32, right handed and can play outfield as well as second base. It would be a good pickup if the Yanks can snag him.
We'll keep you posted.
