In a move I don't quite agree with, but will accept, the Yankees have designated Chris Dickerson for assignment. ESPN has the story HERE. This move makes sense considering Dickerson is a lefty bat and Brian Cashman was looking for some right handed bat help. Don't forget, they added righties with the claiming of Russ Canzler from the Indians and the signing of Matt Diaz.
It's a shame about Dickerson. BYB was pulling for him to compete for the right field role this spring, as difficult as that may have seemed to some. Read GIVE CHRIS DICKERSON A SHOT! for that insight. My thinking was at least if he didn't make the team as the starter, he could at least contribute as a bench player or a late inning pinch runner.
Just wanted to keep you all in the loop... for now, it's off to dinner.
